Thomas J. Burckhard
 

Thomas J. Burckhard is an associate attorney with Larson Latham Huettl LLP and primarily practices in the area of criminal defense.  He is also experienced in the areas of estate planning, guardianships, conservatorships, and probate.

Prior to attending law school, Thomas graduated from Minot State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a minor in Philosophy.   He graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2016.  While attending law school, he excelled as an advocate, winning the Carrigan Cup, the school’s trial competition, and competed in Moot Court.  Mr. Burckhard penned multiple papers on the topics of legal ethics, white collar crime, and the Indian Child Welfare Act.  During his studies, Thomas gained a wealth of experience working for a criminal defense firm. 

Mr. Burckhard was admitted to the North Dakota Bar in September of 2016. Upon admission to the Bar, he served his hometown of Minot as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Ward County.  Prior to joining Larson Latham Huettl, Mr. Burckhard practiced in Fargo, North Dakota in the areas of estate planning, guardianships, conservatorships, and probate.  In his spare time, Thomas enjoys reading, fitness, and spending time with friends and family.
