William graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1972 with a bachelor of science degree. In 1976, he graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law.
When he joined Larson Latham Huettl LLP in 2015, William brought with him a plethora of legal knowledge and experience. This vast and incomparable knowledge and experience enables William to assist clients in the areas of divorce, criminal defense, and litigation.
William’s legal experience includes working for the North Dakota Social Services Board (now known as the North Dakota Department of Human Services), many years in private practice, and, for the last ten years, the Federal Public Defender office. William is admitted to practice in all North Dakota state courts, the U.S. District Court for North Dakota, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. William served as president of the Big Muddy Bar Association from 1991 through 1993. He is a member of American Bar Association, American Association For Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America), and the North Dakota Trial Lawyers Association, serving as president from 1997-1999 and on its Board of Governors from 1986 through 2003. Bill also currently serves as president of the Heartview Foundation, a substance and abuse treatment center with locations in Bismarck and Cando, ND.
