Carey A. Goetz is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas (B.A. 2000) and University of Kansas School of Law (J.D. 2003). Goetz was admitted to practice law in the State of North Dakota in 2003, the State of Minnesota in 2005, and the federal courts of North Dakota and Minnesota in 2006. Upon graduating from law school, Goetz served as a law clerk to Justice Neumann, who is now retired from the North Dakota Supreme Court.
She went on to practice law in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Minot, North Dakota before returning to Bismarck in 2007. Since 2005, Goetz has been practicing in the areas of family law and criminal defense. She has completed family mediation training at the University of North Dakota’s Conflict Resolution Center. Goetz has earned clients’ acquittals in both state and federal court and she has successfully argued appeals before the North Dakota Supreme Court and appeared before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
